Zoarii was born from the idea that everyone needs a place to reset, a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what matters.
The name Zoarii (pronounced “Zore-eye”) is inspired by the word Zoar, meaning a place of refuge, a safe, peaceful sanctuary.
The “ii” represents the number two in Roman numerals, symbolising your second home.
Zoarii is a place where you can slow down, reconnect, and feel truly at ease, a sanctuary by the sea, created for rest, renewal, and inspiration.
Founded by entrepreneur and creative director Matt Newman, who has built several successful companies over the past 20 years, Zoarii is deeply personal. After years navigating the fast-paced world of business, Matt craved a place to switch off, not just physically, but mentally. A space where the noise fades and the natural world takes over.
As a creative, Matt also designed and built a studio space just a short walk from the main dwelling. This calming, minimalist structure houses, photoshoot studio, a wellness space, private gym, cold plunge, sauna, library, and a work space for guests to use during their stay, a seamless blend of retreat and inspiration.
What began as a personal vision has become something bigger, a retreat to share with others who live life at full speed, but understand the value of slowing down.
At Zoarii, every element has been thoughtfully curated, from the architectural home and studio design, floating fireplace, ocean-view yoga deck, and eco-conscious bedding, to the immersive wellness offerings grounded in nature.
This is not just a getaway.
It’s a gentle invitation back to yourself.
Welcome to your sanctuary.
